Breezy Ridge Instruments, Ltd.& John Pearse® Strings are delighted to once again be a corporate sponsor of Merlefest 2006. It takes place on the campus of Wilkes Community College in Wilkesboro, NC, April 27 - 30, 2006.
We sponsor the AMERICANA STAGE and the HERITAGE CRAFTS TENT at Merlefest. We also have a booth in what they now call the the EXPO Tent!Come find us at least to say hello!
Merle Watson first started using our strings in about 1982 and convinced his father to use them as well. In 1983, at a time when we could have let the company go, "Doc" had an interview in Frets Magazine where he bragged on our strings. The response to that article is one of the reasons we are still here in business! We always know when "Doc" plays somewhere, because someone calls us to tryour strings!
We think that it is wonderful that Merle's life should have such an extraordinary celebration as Merlefest...a tribute to the musician and the man...Merle Watson.
Check the Merlefest website for the all the information you need on tickets, artists and travel information.
Our good friends Bob Brozman, Woody Mann and Trevor Howard sponsor the International Guitar Seminars every year and we are proud to support them through a scholarship grant. This year, however, they have decided they needed a year off....so check on their website for updates!
Wayne Henderson Music Festival & Guitar Competition

Wayne Henderson is a wonderful guitar player and a good friend. He started this festival in 1995 and it always takes place the 3rd Saturday in June at the Grayson Highlands State Park, Mouth of Wilson, Virginia. This year that would make it June 17, 2006.
Wayne is also a wonderful luthier whose waiting list for instruments testifies his skills. His festival, held in South Western Virginia every June includes, as part of the festivities, a guitar contest. The winner of that contest receives a Henderson Guitar--the only way to jump the waiting list for a new Henderson! And the "Headliner"of the festival receives a custom Henderson guitar for their participationl!!! And the festival has been growing every year in participation and sponsorship.
We are delighted to participate in supporting this worthy endeavor--and help to try and keep the rain away! Get more information directly at their website!

In November,2003, we lost a good friend who was a wonderful banjo and resonator guitar player--Beverly C. Davis of Galax, VA. It will be awarded, by a separate vote of the judges, to honor a player who has played from the heart! We're excited to see who will be chosen for the this year!
